Northern branches of the Upernavik Ice Stream, with a thin cloud layer over the adjacent bay at left. The Upernavik Ice Stream consists of three main flow channels, and several smaller ones, all emptying into a confined bay near the town of Upernavik. This confluence of ice, land and ocean creates a spectacular sight from high altitude.
