OIB will attempt low-priority mission Foundation Lakes IS-2, the only viable mission, and again returning us to the Filchner-Ronne sector. This follows a careful evaluation of West Weddell that ultimately concluded that it was not viable today. We’re optimistic that larger gaps in the clouds will be available tomorrow. (by Joseph A. MacGregor, Ph.D.)
