View to the east, from 23,000' near the northwestern corner of our operating area.  This shows a clear view of the ice below us, a low stratus deck to the east (note the shadow it casts on the surface), isolated cirrus clouds directly above us, and thicker cirrus to our south.  This cloud distribution, the product of two storm systems centered hundreds of miles apart, governed our operational choices today.
