Lower Heilprin Glacier

Lower Heilprin Glacier.  Its immediate neighbor to the north is Tracy Glacier.  A recent paper by Porter et. al. compared the different thinning behavior of these two glaciers, and concluded that the one with the deeper channel of seawater at its face is thinning much faster than its neighbor, which terminates in shallower water.  The reason is thought to be associated with warming seawater at the face of these glaciers, especially at depth.
