INTEX-NA is a two phase experiment that aims to understand the transport and transformation of gases and aerosols on transcontinental/intercontinental scales and assess their impact on air quality and climate. The primary constituents of interest are ozone and its precursors, aerosols and precursors, and the long-lived greenhouse gases.
INTEX-B will be conducted during a 10-week period from March 1 to May 15, 2006. The first phase of the study will be performed during March and will focus on Mexico City pollution outflow, while the second phase will be performed during April and May and will focus on Asian pollution outflow.
The INTEX-B mission is sponsored by the Tropospheric Chemistry Program at NASA Headquarters. The TCP Program Manager is Dr. Bruce Doddridge.
