[S-MODE] S-MODE Plan of the Day

Hi everyone,

Here is the S-MODE Plan of the Day for Friday, October 22 (all times Pacific):

Announcements:

R/V Oceanus will arrive in the northwestern corner of the S-MODE operations area by sunrise tomorrow and will conduct coincident data collections with DopplerScatt and MOSES (B200), MASS (Twin Otter), Saildrones and NAVO Gliders. On completion of the data collection, Oceanus will cruise to San Francisco Bay with plans to dock at Pier 19 where parts will be delivered to the ship to repair the damaged Wave Gliders.

Friday October 22

  *   Sunrise: Oceanus begins survey of “cold filament” area
  *   0900: Takeoff - Twin Otter Flt 1
  *   0900: Takeoff - B200 Flt 3 (crew brief at 0730)
  *   ~1200: Landsat-8 satellite overpass
  *   1400: Daily Control Center meeting
  *   Saildrones 1072 and 1073 continue their survey near cold filament

Saturday and Sunday, October 23-24

  *   1400: Daily Control Center meetings
  *   Oceanus transit to Pier 19 in San Francisco
  *   Weather outlook is very poor for flights. Next flight opportunity is likely Monday.
