Hello SHARC team,
For our trip to Australia, ALL U.S. TRAVELERS will request an Electronic Travel Authority ETA (it works like a visa, once approved, your passport is linked to an electronic approval for entry into Australia). That includes aircraft crews, scientists, civil servants, contractors, etc. EVERYONE. That also includes anyone who is an alternate/contingency and has any possibility of needing to travel to Australia to support the mission.
Please follow the step-by-step instructions at https://espo.nasa.gov/sharc/content/Hayabusa2_Travel_Information
We need to keep track of these approvals because the next step (once everyone has obtained the ETA) is for us as a group to get an exemption to travel to Australia; currently travel to Australia is only allowed to their residents and very special categories. Please let Caitlin (caitlin.murphy at nasa.gov<mailto:caitlin.murphy at nasa.gov>) and I know once you have emailed your request, and once you have received a response. Please complete this process at your earliest convenience. If you are still waiting on a passport issue/renewal wait until you have that to submit your request.
About lodging, we have a room-block reservation at The Playford Hotel (120 North Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia 5000 theplayford.com.au<https://theplayford.com.au>). For details about rates, how to make a reservation, cancelation policy, etc. visit:
https://espo.nasa.gov/sharc/content/Hayabusa2_Lodging
Please let Caitlin and I know if you have any questions. Thank you for your cooperation and prompt response.
Best regards,
Jhony
