OIB will attempt low-priority mission Foundation Lakes IS-2, the only viable mission, and again returning us to the Filchner-Ronne sector. This follows a careful evaluation of West Weddell that ultimately concluded that it was not viable today. We’re optimistic that larger gaps in the clouds will be available tomorrow. (by Joseph A. Land Ice – Support Force-Upper Blackwall IS-2
This new flight is designed to survey the channel of Support Force and upper Blackwall Glacier, mostly
along ICESat-2 ground tracks. For these tracks, we specifically target the strong beam of each beam
pair. The cross-flow lines also address gaps in Bedmap-2 coverage.

Our 20ft sea container with the GPU has arrived and it is currently empty, it is located next to the hangar. You can use it to store anything that you may need to have access to regardless of the hangar availability. The combination lock is 3776 (ESPO on the phone dial pad).

0100 AFTER-PARTY AT LAS HAYAS: For those staying up late on Tuesday, you are welcome to attend an after-party with the hotel staff. It will take place in the Event Center at the Las Hayas Hotel (Los Acebos’s sister property right across from our hotel). DIRECTIONS: Exit Los Acebos, turn left and follow the trail, cross the road and make a left as soon as you cross the bridge, stay in the trail. It will bring you to the Las Hayas main entrance. As soon as you enter make a left, the event takes place on the ground floor (Planta Baja).
