Mission Objectives
- Obtain high quality in-situ and remote sensing measurements of the polar region for validation of Aura satellite measurements.
- Make observations of the influx of material from the troposphere into the stratosphere.
- Characterize the high gradients of stratospheric trace gases both in and outside the polar vortex.
- Measure outflow from the North American continent.
