PAVE Science Overview

Mission Objectives

  • Obtain high quality in-situ and remote sensing measurements of the polar region for validation of Aura satellite measurements.
  • Make observations of the influx of material from the troposphere into the stratosphere.
  • Characterize the high gradients of stratospheric trace gases both in and outside the polar vortex.
  • Measure outflow from the North American continent.
