[S-mode-cruise] De-mob site, schedule, and logistics

The current working schedule for the S-MODE research cruise is as follows:


  *   Cruise begins the evening of October 6
  *   2-day steam to S-MODE operations area
  *   Science operations through October 30
  *   2-day steam to San Diego. Arrive the evening of November 1.

Regarding your arrival into San Diego, we have set up a courtesy room block at the Holiday Inn San Diego – Bayside. I see that a few of you have booked a room here but may need to adjust your dates with the schedule change. This reservation link will be active until Friday, Oct 7. After this, the group rate will be unavailable.

Alternatively, everyone has the option to sleep on the ship on the evening of Nov 1 and get an early start on de-mob on Nov 2.

It should be noted that the Holiday in Bayside is 6-ish miles from the 10th Avenue Terminal – probably a 20-minute Uber ride. This isn’t terribly convenient, but since the terminal is in downtown San Diego, it is the closest room block we could coordinate without a guarantee to the hotel. You could also find your own accommodations closer to the ship as long as the nightly rate is $161 or below (before tax). This is the government per diem rate in San Diego.
