[Korus-aq] KORUS-AQ RSSR Document and Media Event

Hi Everyone,

For many of you, things have been quiet on the KORUS-AQ front. First, I want to thank those of you who have completed submitting your final data to the archive. It is an important step, moving forward.

Another important step has been finding the right time to address the Ministry of the Environment with our Rapid Science Synthesis Report.

We will be presenting this report to the Ministry and having a Media event hosted by NIER on 19 July. In preparation for that event, the KORUS-AQ leadership team has worked hard over the past couple of weeks to fashion a report from the material we gathered in the RSSR powerpoint working document.  A majority of the figures were used, and some were modified, but all of your inputs were critical to creating the basis that was needed for a document that provides some clear directions and opportunities for Korean decision makers to consider.

While the report is intended to communicate what we can say with confidence at this point in time, there will be much more to add as we continue to look into the details and perform more refined analyses of the KORUS-AQ observations.

Please keep the document internal to the team for now. It had to be completed early so that it could be translated before its release in a few weeks. In that regard, we are not looking for you to edit the document, but if you see any egregious errors, please let us know. Also use it to frame your thoughts going forward on how to fill the information gaps that we need to address.

We will resume telecons in the near future, but don’t forget that the deadline for AGU abstracts seems to be earlier every year. This year the deadline it is 2 August, so it is not too soon to be thinking about it.
