Dear Process ship folks:

Below is the ship’s ctd rosette-related aux sensors I have officially requested for Revelle (note - does not pertain to trace metal clean rosette).
If there is anything I am not yet aware of or got something wrong please let me know.

Also, does anyone want to request any of the following (most likely pertains to sediment trap gang), and if so, how many:
-air tugger
-strobes
-radio detection finder

The ship’s ctd has 8 auxiliary ports (additional to the standard Pressure and dual Temperature and Conductivity Sensors). Note that I did not request an altimeter- we needed the aux port for other stuff and deemed not necessary since we are not casting close to bottom.

Ship-provided AUX sensors/ports requested:

1) O2 sensor (which we will need to be freshly calibrated for cruise)

2) Transmissometer

3) & 4) a combo Fluorometer-Turbidity Sensor (FLNTU with Chl F and backscattering; we think SIO probably has- but I am checking)

PI/Science-provided:

5) beam c bio-optics sensor (Emmanuel or Dave providing?)

6) PAR sensor- likely Biospherical Q series- rated to 2000 m. My understanding is Craig Lee has one that will be provided to Revelle (Ride decided not to use PAR)

7) *Underwater Vision Profiler (UVP5)-sends data over an AUX channel, but has its own internal battery power, so it doesn’t draw current (Andrew providing for Revelle)

8) *LISST Deep-will also require an AUX channel to power the instrument (Andrew providing for Revelle)

*The UVP and LISST will be attached to the ctd rosette frame. Andrew and Emmanuel, SIO will need info from you on mounting configuration. Note that Revelle has had a cruise with UVP and LISST sensors mounted and it worked OK- Mark Ohman at SIO is PI that did that if you want to contact.
