Subject: [EXTERNAL] CPEX-CV HAMSR upload

Vidal & al.,

Perhaps you already know, but we decided to postpone the HAMSR upload until just before the start of CPEX-CV. Shannon Brown, who is the instrument manager, feels that because HAMSR has an open port with parts of the instrument exposed to the environment, he is not comfortable with leaving it on the plane for a couple of months with nobody in attendance. We will leave our pressure box installed, and all we have to do is slide the instrument in. Shannon and Al Tanner already did a comm check at Palmdale today, so installing it will not take much time.

We should probably have had a conversation about flying HAMSR unattended, and perhaps we did and it just flew by me; I never raised it with the instrument team. Fortunately, it looks like this is a case of no harm no foul.
