Dear ARCSIX science team,

good news: No all-hands meeting today 🙂.

BUT: It is almost May (!), and we need to get the final preparations for the ARCSIX Spring Deployment wrapped up. This includes:

  * Finalizing your flights and hotel accommodations for P3 (and other) test flights (the room block at Wallops expires on May 1, Daisy's email from 4/15 and 4/22).

  * Finalize your flights to the respective departure points to Greenland. For most of you, that will be Burlington. The latest traveler list is here<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fspreadsheets%2Fd%2F1udy_HILmCs_UNZczUyo5XiXWPVgNvrhui2-s_KOeL8A%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=05%7C02%7CArcsix%40espo.nasa.gov%7C0ede8422c4124f13979f08dc693c5647%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638500955069786887%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C60000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=S4XKdI0zfHJ4vEXRakvP7HsqCuVOqvEN4YVlKdqLSDo%3D&reserved=0>. Dan recently sent instructions on that (when do you have to be where, what hotel(s) to book). In addition, key dates and information are included in the deployment guide<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1RxBaeddlJY-oAUmp7V7im6kglPowWlEPvNbo-Pbo9pM%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=05%7C02%7CArcsix%40espo.nasa.gov%7C0ede8422c4124f13979f08dc693c5647%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638500955069786887%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C60000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=zKlPgdj5YQHh8bu3iAsbJSooYHqIahGakZAs3uvwJeU%3D&reserved=0>.

  * Make sure you've got your passports and/or visa in hand.

  * If you are an international collaborator (grad student, post-doc, researcher) make sure you bring your US Visa paperwork for when you are re-entering the USA.

  * Make sure you have the required medical clearance and flight training ("AOPA") completed (emails from Kelly); otherwise you will not be able to fly on the P3 or C130.

  * Last shipment items, plan your personal needs for life on the base, and put your luggage together; consider buying earplugs and a blackout sleep mask, make sure you have sufficient prescription medication.

  * If traveling on the C-130 or on the P-3 plan to FedEx or UPS your luggage by May 10 (e.g., ground shipping 75lb in a check-in size luggage from California to Wallops Island will cost ~$220 and if shipped on May 10 will be delivered by May 16). Your luggage needs to be at WFF NLT May 17 for palletizing.

A few other notes:

  * An ARCSIX logistics notes sheet / deployment guide can be found here<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1RxBaeddlJY-oAUmp7V7im6kglPowWlEPvNbo-Pbo9pM%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=05%7C02%7CArcsix%40espo.nasa.gov%7C0ede8422c4124f13979f08dc693c5647%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638500955069786887%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C60000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=zKlPgdj5YQHh8bu3iAsbJSooYHqIahGakZAs3uvwJeU%3D&reserved=0> (same link as above). It contains all information that has been spread across emails in one place, and it will be kept up-to-date.

  * A few of you missed my announcement about the timing of the P-3 test flights. Kelly sent a reminder recently that they are now on May 17. Please check that email.

  * The P-3 and C-130 departure is on May 24. Kelly urges everyone to arrive NLT May 22, especially if you need badge access, and stay in the lodge on base the night before departure (if possible).

  * To facilitate finding roommates in Greenland, Dan will soon send out a roommate spreadsheet. In the meantime, please think about who you would like to share rooms with.
