All,

This message is for people transiting to Pituffik aboard the NASA C-130.

Due to NASA WFF's remote location and base access requirements, it is difficult and not cost-effective to board the C-130 in WFF with a large group. So, we arranged for the plane to stop at Burlington International Airport, VT (BTV), to pick you up. Note that both aircraft, the C-130 and the P-3, when returning from Pituffik on Jun 17, will stop at BTV to process Customs.

C-130 Travel Plan

1. Book air travel, arriving in Burlington, VT (BTV) on May 23. Consider round-trip tickets if you plan to offboard at BTV on the June 17 return. You must arrange air travel specific to your project travel requirements (either AMA or your organization)

2. Book a one-night stay (check-in May 23, check-out May 24) at: https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.marriott.com%2Fevent-reservations%2Freservation-link.mi%3Fid%3D1713227164450%26key%3DGRP%26app%3Dresvlink&data=05%7C02%7Carcsix%40espo.nasa.gov%7C691b7a25ee4741f8982908dc5fc38943%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638490540624202145%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=s3lrVc7dQnTFygWYZbU5CTgtymzaLuCCJSjhPUKhkZM%3D&reserved=0<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.marriott.com%2Fevent-reservations%2Freservation-link.mi%3Fid%3D1713227164450%26key%3DGRP%26app%3Dresvlink&data=05%7C02%7Carcsix%40espo.nasa.gov%7C691b7a25ee4741f8982908dc5fc38943%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638490540624202145%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=s3lrVc7dQnTFygWYZbU5CTgtymzaLuCCJSjhPUKhkZM%3D&reserved=0> This is a below per-diem room block set up by up by ESPO. The booking due date is May 1.

3. May 23, arrive in Burlington, VT.

4. May 24 (the exact time will be announced later), check out of the hotel and take the ESPO-contracted bus to the ANG (Air Nation Guard) side at BTV. We will all travel in one group.

An ESPO representative will be present to chaperone this process.

Luggage
We are time-limited in arriving at Pituffik (the airfield closes at 1600 local). There will be no time to build a luggage pallet at BVT. As such, we all need to ship our large (check-in size, 75lb) luggage in advance to WFF. Make sure it arrives by Friday, May 17. Ship it to this address:

Kelly Griffin
34200 FULTON ST
HANGAR N-159 HANGAR FL
WALLOPS ISLAND, VA
23337-2307
United States

At BVT, you can only bring typical airline carry-on luggage.

Reminders
Please ensure you all have QNC (Qualified Non-Crew) clearance for flying on the C-130.
Please work within the team to find a roommate (we already have some requests).

Answers to potential questions
The ARCSIX project will purchase and ship bedding (sheets, pillows, comforters) and towels for everyone. These will be generic microfiber (polyester) items, i.e., not down or feathers.

In my experience, the buildings in Pituffik are more than adequately heated. I expect the comforters to be sufficient to keep (most of) us warm.

You can board the C-130 at WFF if this is more convenient for you, i.e., you are local and have arranged for transportation. Do not plan to leave your car rental at WFF for the duration of the deployment. Please make travel accommodations with your colleagues. Also, make sure you have access to the base at NASA WFF.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (CC: espo-arcsix at nasa.onmicrosoft.com<mailto:espo-arcsix at nasa.onmicrosoft.com>)
