FYI.

I’ll still plan to come in for the DC8 flyover but may duck out afterwards if this turns out to be a thing.

Also, the Quince de Mayo party has been delayed. Will now be the Diez y Seis de Mayo party.

The Office of Protective Services has been made aware of potential protest activity within the vicinity of Mountain View (near Shoreline and Hwy 101) during the afternoon of Wednesday, May 15, which may impact traffic patterns near the center. Employees who are coming on center on Wednesday are encouraged to check local news and be prepared for potential significant traffic disruptions after 12 noon. Employees who would like to telework or work remotely on May 15 should contact their supervisors.

As a reminder, teleworkers should be prepared to work from home and must coordinate with their supervisors to discuss telework options and arrangements. Additionally, employees should communicate any needed work schedule changes to their supervisors.

Contractor employees should consult their contractor management staff to determine work requirements.

Please note that the Exchange has rescheduled the monthly happy hour and Cinco de Mayo After Party<https://nasa.sharepoint.com/sites/arc/SitePages/May-15--Happy-Hour-%26-Cinco-De-Mayo-After-Party-in-the-SpaceBar.aspx> to Thursday, May 16, 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. PDT at the SpaceBar in Building 3.

Reminder: Emergency Notification System and the NASA Safe App

In the event of an emerging situation or an emergency at a NASA facility, NASA can send and receive messages through our Emergency Notification System (ENS) which communicates through email, text, or phone call, to confirm your safety status. Effective operation is dependent on you keeping your emergency contact information up to date. Please visit the Emergency Notification System page<https://nasa.sharepoint.com/sites/ops/SitePages/ENS.aspx> on Inside Ames for further information.

In addition to utilizing the ENS System, NASA Protective Services also recommends utilizing the NASA Safe App (available for free download on iOS<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapps.apple.com%2Fph%2Fapp%2Fnasa-safe%2Fid1635210233&data=05%7C02%7Call%40espo.nasa.gov%7Cfb146dbdf7f54e80e39108dc74481c99%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638513100279175384%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=8p3x5mI93XgRJb7qN%2BrPoVjsA1NFXMuFZGDgHBVFotw%3D&reserved=0> and Google Play<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fplay.google.com%2Fstore%2Fapps%2Fdetails%3Fid%3Dcom.cutcom.apparmor.nasa%26hl%3Den_US&data=05%7C02%7Call%40espo.nasa.gov%7Cfb146dbdf7f54e80e39108dc74481c99%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638513100279175384%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=28nYVy3wyAeXS9lhOMsGzmpFqm1dOZKVbCI5r4BrcyY%3D&reserved=0>) on both personal and government cell phones. Employees can also opt-in to receive center alert messages.

The app is also a one-stop shop for:

  *   Emergency response contacts
  *   Campus maps
  *   Gate operating hours

All employees and center visitors are encouraged to download the app. When installing it, be sure to allow notifications, and when the notifications preferences screen appears, choose Ames Research Center to receive alerts. Some features of the app are geofenced, so be sure to allow the app to access your location while using the app, if requested.
