Team – GREAT work getting this patched. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
On special for a limited time only, we have an additional offer:
Are you TIRED of clicking Update next to apps in Self Service?? Do you wish your apps would just update themselves silently in the background already?!
Then boy do I have a DEAL for you!
** WANTED: volunteers for zero-touch, automated updating of Chrome, Adobe Acrobat, Firefox, MS Excel, MS Word, and/or MS PowerPoint **
Requirements:
- You are OK with a low chance of the application closing itself to update (i.e. if you host a meeting and need the app, you have a backup planned in case the app closes).
- You desire to be less involved in managing your software updates.
But wait, there’s MORE! Sign up now and you can choose to test for just one application, two applications, or ANY COMBINATON of the above applications!
=======> How to sign up: <=======
Please reply to this email with which application(s) you want to be signed up to test.

Please patch your system today (as long as it is reasonably safe to do so and internet bandwidth permitting). The urgency of the Security Update 2020-003 update has been upgraded by our org’s security folks and is overdue.
Thank you very much, team! You’re superstars.
Cheers,
Alex Stanfill

It has come to my attention that there is some confusion about whether I am indicating that you should upgrade to Catalina. We are definitely NOT upgrading to Catalina at this time. Please continue to ignore the top section about that upgrade. If you attempt to upgrade to Catalina, software restrictions we’ve put into place SHOULD stop you—but Apple is getting more persistent.
The updates you are looking for are down below, under “More info…”

NVM, I see! You are prompted to upgrade to Catalina. Do you know how come this is not visible on my computer? I wonder what wizardry the EUSO folks use to keep it hidden.

Good morning team,
A critical security update was released for macOS. Please install it as you’re available, ideally this week.
* Check for system updates: Self Service > Check for Apple Software Updates
If you see a second blue “More info…” link, click on it to see the updates (screenshots below).
* Before starting an update:
* verify you have a current Time Machine backup (System Prefs > Time Machine > see under one of your drives something like “Backups: <date> - Today _ _ : _ _ AM”)
* ensure you can be without your computer for the next few hours (recommendation: do the updates at the end of your work day)
Thanks!! Have a wondrous Wednesday!
