The SABOR (Ship-Aircraft Bio-Optical Research) experiment, to be conducted during the summer of 2014 (July 17^th to Aug 7^th), will bring together several teams working on the issues of polarization of light in the ocean, focusing on several different scientific perspectives of this problem: biogeochemstry, radiative transfer, in situ, and remotely-sensed optics. The SABOR campaign is remarkable in that it brings together a large group of scientists hailing from the two different, often isolated, domains of atmospheric and oceanic earth science, collaborating in deploying numerous off the shelf and prototype instruments deployed from two different platforms (research vessel and aircraft) to collect a large, state of the art in-situ and airborne-based dataset.
