The Asia-AQ project aims to use advanced satellite technology, ground-based observations, and airborne missions to gain a better understanding of the air quality problems in Metro Manila and 12 other cities in Asia.

Yonghap News Agency - OSAN, South Korea, Feb. 18 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and the United States will kick off a research campaign to uncover the cause of air pollution across Asia during the winter season as part of efforts to better address air quality challenges and come up with policies designed to improve air quality.

Asia News Network - The Korea Herald - This year's air quality study, scheduled for February to March, coincides with a period of heightened air pollution levels compared to the previously conducted study in 2016, which took place from May to June.

WION News - The project, named ASIA-AQ, represents a collaboration between NASA and regional governments in an area grappling with some of the highest air pollution-related death rates globally. 

Results from the study are expected to be made public within a year, providing potentially valuable insights into the complex dynamics of air pollution in the region.
