Comments:the second full research flight for ACES 2015 campaign was to fly at FL310 from SW to NE and back over Ahoskie airfield (KASJ) and then return to Langley. This objective was met. The weather during this track was characterized by high cirrus clouds and light to no turbulence. Over the Eastern half, there was a solid mid altitude layer around FL250. On the Western half, these mid clouds were scattered to broken with occasional views of the ground. The 5-nm spiral around Ahoskie had broken clouds until 8000’ MSL. A 50’ low approach was flown at KASJ followed by a VFR return to Langley at 5500 – 7500’ MSL.
