Purpose of Flight:Science
Comments:First science mission successfully flown today. Some issues with the Doppler Scatt data package (recorder) caused delay prior to takeoff but were resolved. East/west and diagonal lines were flown for Gulf current measurement. Initial review indicates good data. ATC handling was very good and no issues with military warning area today. Next planned takeoff from KMSY will be 1530Z (1030 CST) on 25 Mar 2018. A ROCIS King Air A90 will also be in the same area collecting data for comparison at much lower altitude (3-5000 ft) than NASA 801 (28K ft).
