SOLVE Participants The SOLVE mission web page is now officially public and is located at URL http://cloud1.arc.nasa.gov/solve Below are brief descriptions of the categories and the contents that will be under each on this page. Mission Description: Overview of research, mission plan and objectives. Eventually a table will exist for easier navigation. Organization: Long list of participants broken down into the various groups. We apologize, but will need everyone's assistance with titles, groups, and placement of personnel we are not familiar with. Please make sure everyone in your group is shown and include email addresses with any name additions given. SAGE III: Top level link to SAGE III homepage. Instrumentation: DC-8, ER-2, Balloon payloads, and ground instrument descriptions. The instrument names on payload images will be links. Investigators, please supply us with a one page description of your instrument (a few exist on ER-2 payload which may need to be updated but can be used as examples). If instrument teams have home pages, we would be glad to include your URL in addition to the instrument description. Theory: Theory investigators, also please supply a one page descriptions of your models or the analysis being performed. I've made assumptions with theory group/model names, please provide the correct name if this is wrong. Tropospheric / Stratospheric weather: Here we will link to the GSFC NCEP model output for daily vortex images and to Penn State for Kiruna and Sweden weather. During the deployment we will post daily forecasts here. Project Events: SOLVE calendar, Project updates, schedules, and other important information will reside here. Logistics: Shipping addresses, customs information, airlift arrangements, hangar and lab layouts, maps, hotel and rental car information will be posted here. Flight Logs: Web forms that will be restricted to the SOLVE science team. Here Investigators will complete simple forms concerning instrument status, flight suggestions, mission summaries, and forecasts. Passwords will be distributed before the mission starts. Data archive: Guidelines for those unfamiliar with the data format that will be used during SOLVE. We possibly could have future capability to do data archive submission and retrieval plus simple plotting of older data sets or current SOLVE data set with mission password. Links: Miscellaneous links to other related pages. Please email any URLs you feel should be posted. This page is intended to be regularly updated. Although now in its early stages, it will prove to be a very useful tool if everyone contributes. Prior to, and during the deployment, it will act as our main source for distributing critical information to you. The email list this message was sent to will also receive daily schedule information prior to and during the deployment. If you wish to be taken off this list please advise. Review what we have posted on this page and email any suggestions and Instrument / model description to myself with a cc: to Joe Goosby at: goosby@cloud1.arc.nasa.gov Thanks for your assistance in advance!
