POLARIS ER2 NOTE

                             Friday, 20 June 1997 
 
	
	SCHEDULE INFO:

	The ER-2 underwent phased maintenance (scheduled inspection) at Ames
	and had a successful Functional Check Flight (FCF) on Tuesday, 
	17 June.
	
	Ken Broda will fly the transit to Alaska as scheduled on Monday,
	23 June.  The earliest takeoff will be 10:30 PDT, which
	would mean an arrival in Fairbanks at 15:00 local Alaska time.
	
	OMS teams have arrived and are proceeding with payload preparation
	for launch readiness next week.

	The NSBF LDB (Long Duration Balloon) project is also here at
	Ft. Wainwright.  They have just gotten clearance to overfly Russia
	and hope to launch in the next few days for their circumnavigation
	flight.

		Monday, 23 June:
		ER-2 Transit Ames-Ft. Wainwright

		Tuesday, 24 June:
		Instrument integration

		Wednesday, 25 June
		Instrument integration if needed
         ***	12noon - Lunchtime science team meeting   ***
		(there will be a sign up Tuesday for the 
		 Wednesday lunch) 

		Thursday, 26 June
		First science flight opportunity
