Dear Colleagues,

Registration is open for the International Symposium On The Unexpected Increase in Emissions of Ozone-Depleting CFC-11. This will take place 25-27 March, 2019 in Vienna, Austria. See attachment for more information on potential topics.

Please forward this email if you know of other interested parties. My apologies for spamming as we are trying to reach anyone who would like to attend.

The Symposium is limited to 100 persons. Hence, attendance will be approved by the Scientific Steering Committee if applications are oversubscribed. Priorities on attendance will be based upon whether an applicant has submitted an accepted abstract and their technical and scientific interests and standing. Limited travel funding will be available for attendance, again subject to priorities outlined above.

You may register for free at: https://www.sparc-climate.org/meetings/meetingscfc-11-workshop-march-2019-in-vienna/
You can upload an abstract or email one later to office at sparc-climate.org<mailto:office at sparc-climate.org>.

We have received a number of extracts including:
• M. Prater & D. Ruiz - Understanding the role of the stratosphere on the lifetime and surface variability of CFC-11
• X Huang, X. Chen, and , A. Arbor - Global map of CFC-11 secular changes inferred from the AIRS (Atmospheric Infrared Sounder) radiance observations from 2002 to 2018
• Abebe Kebede Heptegebriel - Examining the Role of Quasi-biennial Oscillation on June, July and August Rainfall patterns over Upper Blue Nile Basin of Ethiopia
• S. Park et al. - Identifying potential CFC-11 emission sources in China based on atmospheric observations from 2008 to 2016
• X. Fang et al. - Rapid increase in ozone-depleting CHCl3 emissions from eastern China
• L.M. Western et al. - Estimates of CFC-11 emissions from eastern Asia based on atmospheric measurements and inverse modeling
• L.J.M. Kuijpers - 'Preliminary abstract'

Please register before January 2, 2019 when registration will close.
