Dear Xiong
Thank you for your effort.
I heard you are going to meet Jhoon Kim and Myunghawn Ahn in next Sunday evening.
Unfortunately, I have a plan to meet Nick in this time.
Jhoon arranged a meeting a while ago (Jhoon, Myunghawn, Heesung Chong, Dave Flittner, and me) at ~4 pm on Sunday, and I do not know if it is fixed. When is your meeting with Nick? Maybe there is no conflict for you to join in us.
But, I think we can freely talk about the L1 data calibration because almost people will be Hawaii during workshop period.I would like to hear your opinion.
Yes. Certainly, we can talk separately. Heesung have already tried to apply TEMPO-like scattering angle dependent BTDF to GEMS data and showed that it works really well.
And I discuss with Nickolay and Joanna about cooperation research of improvement of GEMS L2 algorithm.
At this meeting, would it be okay to ask NASA to include your team in a collaborative study to improve the TEMPO and GEMS algorithms?
Yes. That would be great for us to this part of the cooperation.
About other meetings, I knew that Gonzalo/Caroline are going to meet with Rokjin and Hyeong-Ahn to discuss about VOC data products. I will also suggest Caroline/Gonzalo/Junsung to meet with Hanlim/Yeonjin to discuss about NO2 retrieval algorithm. Junsung and I can also discuss with Jae about ozone products. Although Sunny is not attending the meeting, we have been collaborating on the ozone profile product.
Thanks and best.
Xiong
Sincerely,
Hyunkee Hong

Dear Hyunkee:
I had some email exchanges with Shobha that the talks from her group will be given by Joanna and Larry Flynn, so that we do not rearrange the presentations. I suggest that we update the presenters like this if you are OK with it.
Joanna Joiner (NASA GSFC) on behalf of Shobha Kondragunta (NOAA)
Larry Flynn (NOAA) on behalf of Pubu Ciren (NOAA)
Larry Flynn (NOAA) on behalf of Hai Zhang (NOAA)
I just sent an email to Pieternel/Shaun to see if someone else can give her talk.
Any thoughts about our TEMPO/GEMS BTDF/L1b/calibration side meeting?
Thanks and best.
Xiong

We discussed about having a side meeting to discuss about TEMPO/GEMS BTDF, instrument alibration issues as well as other science algorithms. Jhoon suggested having a BTDF/calibration meeting first on Sunday afternoon and then present a summary of this discussion at a later TEMPO/GEMS side meeting which may include more people to participate. Do you have more thoughts about this? Should we just have 1 meeting focusing on the calibration and L0-1b? It can work if everyone is involved in the L0-1 can make it on Sunday. Or should we still have two meetings?
Also you have seen, Shobha's team could not attend (Shobha, Pubu, Hai, and Zhigang), although Kai Yang can give Zhigang's talk as a coauthor. But the other three (from Tuesday afternoon's session) might need to be cancelled and greatly affect that session (reduce # of talks from 7 to 4 in that session). Also we have not heard from Pieternel about whether her talk can be given by someone else. Originally, we want to combine Pierternel and Dennis's talk in to the same session but could not accomodate it on Tuesday. Do you think if it is a good idea to move Pieternel (if someone can give the talk) and Dennis's talk or other talks to session 4 (after checking with Dennis)? Or should move a few posters to oral?
Please let me know if you want to set up a meeting to discuss about both things.
I am also open to hear about comments from anyone else.
Thanks and best.

Sihyun and Hyunkee,
Can you please provide me with an agenda for the side meetings that have are being scheduled? Also, do we want any of these meetings posted on the hotel information signs? As you know, we only have one boardroom reserved for these meetings, so they should not overlap.
I’m including Xiong on this message – Xiong, if you have any side meetings scheduled please also let me know.
Thank you,
Lynn
