Dear Planetary Boundary Layer Colleague,

The NASA Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) team will be holding a community meeting October 2-4, 2023, in the greater DC/Baltimore area.

We invite you to attend the meeting in person or virtually. Please register your interest in attending on this form<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2Fe%2F1FAIpQLSceLJqJlODn8BxIklfL9jmg-kx_ThcgxB6ltJAF90lofmKp0g%2Fviewform%3Fusp%3Dsf_link&data=05%7C01%7Cpbl-science%40espo.nasa.gov%7Cd8cc469b6d0442c943c308db9170b6b4%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638263685509562478%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=4d6tAR9MCNYhawlpejV77kVw%2FtiyHhErzaKSCojJsB4%3D&reserved=0> by Monday, August 7, 2023 so we may plan the meeting accordingly. Virtual participation will be limited to viewing of plenary sessions.

The meeting will provide an overview of the 2017 Decadal Survey PBL program goals, key science questions and associated challenges that shape the direction of a future PBL architecture. A goal of this meeting is to bring together the larger PBL community (modeling, suborbital and space-based observations, technologists, and mission architects) to work towards a PBL framework including program-of-record observations and future space-based measurements. The meeting will include plenary, small working group, and poster sessions. The breakouts and poster sessions will be limited to in-person attendees. We anticipate that the final day (October 4) will be a half-day joint session with the AIRS/Sounder science team meeting.

Additional information about PBL, including the recent PBL study report, can be found at: https://science.nasa.gov/earth-science/decadal-pbl

Sincerely yours,

Carol Anne, Jeff, and Amin
