[Pace-pax] [PACE-PAX] - Max extent of ER2 aircraft coverage around the Palmdale area?

Here are "range-rings" for the ER-2 operating from Edwards. The ring indicates how much loiter time is available at a given distance. One is for an 8 hr mission and one is for a 6.5 hr mission.

Let me know if you have any questions

Thanks

Great thanks. And as the email chain indicates, we don't intend to fly in Mexican airspace as that figure indicates. Otherwise, that is the farthest extent we could expect to fly.

Tony,

I should have known you would have already had this conversation!
Thanks Tony - Thanks Kirk. No further action needed

Best,

Hi Taylor,
Here is a previous conversation between Kirk and I on the topic of your email today.

Exactly, although we don't plan to fly over Mexico.
Thanks
Kirk

Hi Kirk,
I don't think we need precision, and this should be fine.

I think your comments describe a box something like the map below, which I will use as a reference.

If you have any other thoughts or updates, feel free to send them, but this should work fine for now.

Thank you,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,

I can come up with something, how precise does this need to be? On land we would never go beyond California, Nevada or Arizona. The southeast corner of Arizona is 112.01 W and 32.75N. A conservative estimate for the NW corner would be about 129W and 42N. But that is just me looking at Google Earth.

If you would like more precision or potential flight plans we can get them to you.

Thanks
Kirk

Hi Kirk,
As part of developing a laser safety plan for HSRL2 for PACE-PAX, the HSRL2 team may need to state in the safety plan the area of max extent (lat/lon) expected to be covered by the ER2 flights during PACE-PAX.

Do you have rough idea of the max/min lat/lon extents that might be covered over the course of the mission?

Thank You,
Anthony Cook
