Hi Rei,
No worries about missing the telecons, I hope I answered appropriately. Yes, we were planning to use GMAO for the aerosol forecasts, but I haven’t looked deeply at what GMAO is producing yet. Our primary goal is to seek out variability in aerosol conditions rather than specific types.
A sample briefing would be excellent, it would be nice to focus on that perhaps in our next meeting. I’m going to be on leave June 28 until July 24, which is why I postponed the next meeting. If you can’t make it, could somebody else in your team show what you have?
If you would like to send a clarifying message about bocachica, you can send to: pace-pax at espo.nasa.gov
Thanks!
Kirk

Hi Kirk,
I listened to the recording of last week's All Hands telecon. Sorry again for not making it due to travel. I wish I was there to make a few comments and answer questions about bocachica.
I was asked about the lack of aerosol forecasts on the website. That's certainly true. And that's because we agreed that the aerosol forecasting would be handled by the GMAO group (POC Arlindo). The idea was to take some of Arlindo's aerosol forecasts and included them into my overall briefing. It occurred to me that we need to think about how the aerosol forecasting would be handled during the September dry run. Have you looked through the GMAO Fluid site? Do you think these plots are sufficient? Or do you we need to ask Arlindo for supplemental information to the Fluid forecasts? If so, we'll need to contact him soon.
Over the next month, I plan to put together a sample briefing. I'll incorporate some of the GMAO Fluid plots that I feel might be relevant for PACE-PAX. I'd appreciate your feedback on the briefing template.
Also, I saw that the next telecon has been pushed back to July 25... I'll likely be at NASA Langley for the ARCSIX mission dry run and may be unable to attend...sigh. It will be during the lunch hour, so perhaps I can make it?! Can I keep you posted on this? I feel so bad for missing these telecons (though I make sure to listen to the recordings each time).
Thanks,
Rei

Hi Kirk,
Thanks for the agenda. This is helpful. I don't have anything specific that I'd like to note.
Sorry that I won't be there to update the team on the forecast website. Please feel free to let the team know about the bocachica website. However, please note the following:
* it's still preliminary (under construction)
* at some point, possibly before the dry run, it will come offline since I am being forced by HQ to move bocachica to a central Data Center at Ames (since it's a public-facing server)
* if anyone has URLs of forecast products or mission-related links they want to see added to bocachica, please feel free to let me know
Our team is available Sep 11-15. I think I let you know a while ago, but just wanted to see if the date has been set. Thanks!
Rei

Hi Rei,
No problem! I’ll make sure to record the meeting. Is there anything in particular you would like me to note?
I am planning to have Sam talk a little bit about flight plan elements that he is creating. The dry run dates that we picked are Sept. 11-15, and I was also planning to mention this and see if there are any major obstacles to that. Will you be available?
Below is the nominal agenda. Safe travels
Kirk

Hi Kirk,
I'm currently in Boulder for a workshop through next Thursday. I'm sorry that I'll be unable to attend the PACE-PAX telecon next Tue... I'll be sure to listen to the recording afterwards. Have you settled on the dry run week in September?
Thanks for your understanding,
Rei
