Hello all,

I hope everyone had a fun, relaxing day off.

We’ve sketched in a plan for the next few days. As you’ve probably noticed by now this could change, depending on aircraft operations and other unpredictables. But, here is what we have:

Monday Sept. 12
Both the P3 and ER2 are scheduled to fly. Take-off time for the P3 will depend on an early morning weather update & selection of flight plan.
Possible P3 take-off times are 8:15, 8:30 or 9:30
The ER2 will take off at 9:00

Morning:
4:45am Senior, Ismael (and maybe Messi?) go with Mike Tosca to the airport to see AirMSPI instrument & ER2 take-off.
This means taking the 4:45 am shuttle. This allows viewing of the complete preparation for take-off, which we here is impressive
The rest of the group are welcome to come to the Ops Center and again login to MTS to track the flights.

Late morning, Paquita might go over NASA Worldview and HISPLIT trajectories, depending on interest level. If not then, she will do it on Wednesday

Afternoon:
1:30pm Michael Diamond will give a tutorial on Python programming. Meet in the Ops Center.

Tuesday Sept. 13
No-fly day
We are working on pairing you all up with instrument teams.

Wednesday Sept. 14
4:45am two or three other students have the opportunity to go see the ER-2 takeoff. take 4:45am shuttle, coordinate with airmspi team
Afternoon:
Will include:
Continued tutorial on Python programming, with Michael & Brian.
Talk on “the fundamentals of clouds”
tutorial on Worldview and HYSPLIT for those interested.

Thursday Sept. 15
4:45 am two or three other students have the opportunity to go see the ER-2 takeoff. take 4:45am shuttle, coordinate with airmspi team

Flying on the P3:
The possibility has also arisen that, one at a time, we might be able to get a few of you on P-3 flights. We will want to know who is interested, and then would draw names randomly from a hat for who could go if a seat opens up. It would require being prepared in the evening of the pre-flight day to get up early to make the required shuttle. Please let us know if you are interested.

Cheers,
Sarah & Paquita
