Dear Sarah,

Thanks for including me. I am certainly interested, and plan to attend. Pizza (any kind) and beer sounds like a great plan, and chipping in is not a problem.

Best regards,

Kostas

Subject: Re: SE Atlantic aerosol/cloud modeling - side mtg at AGU

A couple points of clarification:

First:

The side meeting at AGU will be held:

Thursday DECEMBER 15, 6:00-9:00pm

(Not November 15!)

Second:

I’d like this to be a focused discussion on modeling activities, which does not mean we can’t discuss data at all. However my intention here is not to present initial ORACLES/LASIC/etc. results — that will happen during the AGU sessions (e.g. sessions A33K Wednesday afternoon & A41D Thursday). Given limited time and energy (end of day 4 of AGU) I think we will need to keep the discussion a bit more focused on the modeling side. Feedback welcome.

Cheers,

Sarah

Dear ORACLES, CLARIFY, AeroCom and other modelers,

Back in late July I contacted you all about the possibility of having a side meeting at AGU and/or AMS around coordinating SE Atlantic aerosol/cloud modeling activities. Since then we’ve had the first ORACLES field deployment out of Namibia (with plenty of interesting findings to challenge the models...), AeroCom has had their 2016 meeting, and I’ve secured a meeting space for AGU.

The side meeting at AGU will be held:
Thursday November 15, 6:00-9:00pm
The venue is a very cool private meeting space located 1 block west of Union Square:

As an added appeal (and so we don’t all keel over…) we will have pizza delivered and will have beer, wine and soda.

We unfortunately can’t cover the cost of the food/drink so anyone indulging will be asked to chip in cash to cover costs.

1) I will need a head-count, so please RSVP as soon as possible and let me know if you will be coming.

2) Let me know if you want in on the pizza & drinks:
a.) pizza preference (kind? gluten-free? would prefer salad? I’ll see what I can do – just let me know)
    b.) beer? wine? soda? other?

3) As per my previous email let me know if there’s anyone else you think should attend who’s not already on this email list.

4) This does not preclude the possibility of also having a side meeting at AMS in Seattle in January.

5) I’ll be in touch again later about a meeting agenda. In the meantime, feel very free to send any ideas/thoughts.

Best,

Sarah
