[Oracles-er2-investigators] flight plan

Here are tentative ER2 plans for the next three flights.


1.       Friday (9/16)

Routine coordinated flight.  This uses the attached plan 20160915_pattern2_log_routine_coordinated .pdf that was already worked up. This is along the routine SE-NW track with a few reversal points added in. ER2 Takeoff 0900 local for ~ 8 hour flight

2.       Saturday (9/17) Plume mapping flight.  This uses the excel spreadsheets 20160917_plume_age1.xlsx attached.  Here the ER-2 goes north along 11 E, takes a slight NE jog to go closer to the coast, has a leg 5-6-7 along the leg the P-3 will be working (5-6 is S-N then 6-7 is N-S, then heads west along 10 S to 0 deg, then heads toward base along the standard NW-SE diagonal.  The map below shows these points relative to the grid we discussed earlier.  Some of the track points are along the grid and are so noted in the comments section of the spreadsheet.  Some of the points are not on grid locations but should be relatively easy to add in. ER-2 takeoff is at 1000 local to allow P3 to get a head start.

3.       Monday (09/19) Routine mapping flight. This is the same (or similar) to what has been flown before and so is already worked up.  Assuming that the 9 hour version is flown on Monday, this would use the 20160912_pattern1_9 hour mapping log.pdf pattern.  (An 8 hour version has already been worked up and can be used if necessary on this or other days).  This is the big triangle flight. Takeoff at 0900 local.
