Dear former IMPACTS mission scientist:

We are gearing up for Deployment 2022 and need to put together our operations schedule. We are writing you to see if you are interested and able to commit to being a Mission Scientist for IMPACTS during winter 2022. If so, please fill out this doodle poll (https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdoodle.com%2Fpoll%2F34si3hc74wid35ke%3Futm_source%3Dpoll%26utm_medium%3Dlink&data=04%7C01%7Cimpacts-mission-scientists%40espo.nasa.gov%7C20ec0fa3fc314543478a08d98d8ed57e%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637696466872366025%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=JNwec0v9AM%2B5TrnitY2bV%2FEQu0bDJMymOXj050lQYCg%3D&reserved=0<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdoodle.com%2Fpoll%2F34si3hc74wid35ke%3Futm_source%3Dpoll%26utm_medium%3Dlink&data=04%7C01%7Cimpacts-mission-scientists%40espo.nasa.gov%7C20ec0fa3fc314543478a08d98d8ed57e%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637696466872366025%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=JNwec0v9AM%2B5TrnitY2bV%2FEQu0bDJMymOXj050lQYCg%3D&reserved=0>) of approximate dates of your availability by Friday 10/15. Please use the doodle poll as follows:

  * Green – BOTH available and preferred
  * Yellow – Available but not your preferred travel time
  *   None – Not Available

We are also interested in whether you know of other IMPACTS team members (especially early career) who would like to be a mission scientist. If those interested individuals do not have much experience, we would include them as 'assistant' mission scientists and have them work with the lead scientists and participate in discussions and decisions to gain experience.

Also, we plan to have a dry run in early November. The purpose of this dry run will be to help train any new forecasters and for the mission scientist to gain experience with the new flight planning software. We plan to use cases of storms that occurred in 2021. We will send out a separate email about the dry run soon once we know who is planning to participate as a mission scientist.

Again, don't forget to fill out the doodle poll (https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdoodle.com%2Fpoll%2F34si3hc74wid35ke%3Futm_source%3Dpoll%26utm_medium%3Dlink&data=04%7C01%7Cimpacts-mission-scientists%40espo.nasa.gov%7C20ec0fa3fc314543478a08d98d8ed57e%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637696466872366025%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=JNwec0v9AM%2B5TrnitY2bV%2FEQu0bDJMymOXj050lQYCg%3D&reserved=0<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdoodle.com%2Fpoll%2F34si3hc74wid35ke%3Futm_source%3Dpoll%26utm_medium%3Dlink&data=04%7C01%7Cimpacts-mission-scientists%40espo.nasa.gov%7C20ec0fa3fc314543478a08d98d8ed57e%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637696466872366025%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=JNwec0v9AM%2B5TrnitY2bV%2FEQu0bDJMymOXj050lQYCg%3D&reserved=0>).

Sincerely,

Lynn and John
