Hi Forecasters and Mission Scientists,

We just wanted to give everyone an update on the schedule as the deployments begins (see below):

  1. Our first daily briefing will be Thursday 1/6/2022. You should have received a calendar invite. If you didn’t, please let us know.
  2. The P-3 test flight is planned for Thursday 1/6/2022. Feel free to follow along in MTS2.
  3. The ER-2 transit flight from NASA Armstrong to Pope is planned for Friday 1/7/2022. Feel free to follow along in MTS2.
  4. The first potential science flight is still on schedule for Monday 1/10/2022.
  5. The Mission Scientist shift schedule is attached (same as previous version) and the forecaster schedule is here: https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fspreadsheets%2Fd%2F1f1RTlgVvhX-zPGNeyEXvxF5x0Fn1ykVRXSxIcXqys0U%2Fedit&data=04%7C01%7Cimpacts-forecasters%40espo.nasa.gov%7C6ea4768708de4671b8f908d9cfcff6dd%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637769314373552270%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=tCFrkZrRvTLV4tRAvBGfnBYtAQk2VS43V%2FPE6PPrmDg%3D&reserved=0<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fspreadsheets%2Fd%2F1f1RTlgVvhX-zPGNeyEXvxF5x0Fn1ykVRXSxIcXqys0U%2Fedit&data=04%7C01%7Cimpacts-forecasters%40espo.nasa.gov%7C6ea4768708de4671b8f908d9cfcff6dd%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637769314373552270%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=tCFrkZrRvTLV4tRAvBGfnBYtAQk2VS43V%2FPE6PPrmDg%3D&reserved=0>. We understand that things are very fluid right now with COVID disruptions to travel, health, and family situations. Please let us know as soon as possible if your situation has changed (or your flight gets canceled) and you cannot make it to the Ops Center during your scheduled shift. The more advance notice we have, the better we can mitigate the situation by finding an in-person replacement or switching roles so you can serve in a virtual capacity if necessary (ER-2 mission scientist or assistant forecaster). Thanks for your understanding and flexibility.

See you all soon!

Lynn, John, Gerry, and Joe
