Dear Colleague -
We welcome you to submit an abstract to our session at the January 2021 American Meteorological Society meeting, "Air Quality and Climate Impacts of Biomass Burning," which is part of the 23rd Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry. The abstract submission deadline is August 24. Like many meetings this year, AMS has moved to an entirely virtual format rather than holding in-person sessions in New Orleans. The session description and link to submit abstracts are below.
Sincerely
Steve Brown, Chris Holmes, Genevieve Rose Hizon Lorenzo
Biomass burning represents a major emission source of reactive gases and particulate matter to Earth's Atmosphere, affecting regional air quality, climate, weather and biogeochemical cycles. These emissions and their associated atmospheric chemistry and fate have been traditionally poorly understood but have received considerable recent attention that has advanced the scientific understanding of the atmospheric impacts of biomass burning. This session invites submissions of recent research from field campaigns, modeling studies, laboratory investigations, and remote sensing of biomass burning emissions, chemical transformation, transport and impacts. Contributions are particularly welcome analyzing results from relevant recent field studies, including, but not limited to, FIREX, FIREX-AQ, CAMP2Ex, WE-CAN, BB-FLUX, ORACLES, and LASIC.
