Hi Guys,

In setting up the November exports all-hands meeting, it has become apparent that we need to revitalize the synthesis working groups beforehand. Goal would be to use the WGs to review what we learned in the North Pacific and assess what we hope to learn from the North Atlantic data set. This will enable us to focus the meeting on what is needed to be accomplished so we can synthesize the two cruise end members and answer the exports science questions.

A draft meeting schedule and goals can be found at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TizCIhouHyHge7SC6nK5L3l1Bu2PgJ211cgkrKVVTWw/edit <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TizCIhouHyHge7SC6nK5L3l1Bu2PgJ211cgkrKVVTWw/edit>. Note that WG4 (time / space) for now will be subsumed into a presentation on North Atlantic physical ocean context that Leah will be presenting.

This means that we (I) are asking you all reorganize your WGs. I know that not all of you were on the planning call today - but it seems important that each WG hold 2 or more zooms in the next 6 weeks to get each WG to the point that they (you) can present a cogent presentation on what we’ve learned from the North Pacific and what we hope to learn by including the North Atlantic data.

I hope this is OK. I am sending you all this note to make sure it is OK. If you do not wish to help lead your WG, let Ivona or I know. No judging - life throws you curveballs once in a while… That said, know that I am planning to send out a message to the all list before Monday detailing our plans.

Thank you all. Best, Dave & Ivona

PS - If you have ideas about the draft schedule let us know too!
