Hi Collin,
That is great news!!! Awesomeeeee!
Shipping:
Oki - Vidal, Quincy - can you see about the shipping questions below from
Collin - she will be going aboard the Ride, cruise before our original one.
These the dates/ports I have:
Load: 14 Jul 2018
Dep: 17 Jul 2018 Newport, OR, USA NP06 50N/145W
Arr: 04 Aug 2018 Seattle, WA, USA NP06 50N/145W
Unload: 05 Aug 2018
Pump:
Jason - can you confirm this:
> The new inline pump for the EXPORTS project was ordered and it appears it
will be a split shipment. The first package with fittings and spare parts
was sent on the 20th (UPS# 1z7720790311071026, scheduled delivery is the
25th - tomorrow) with the main pump being shipped on May 3rd.
Based on this - Matt already has a part of the pump, while second part will
be arriving soon (probably next week). Collin, Norm, Mary Jane, can you
start this conversation with Matt?
Samples - is there a possibility for you to collect some HPLC samples from
the CTD for the intercalibration with the Float and gliders? Mary Jane,
Craig - I know you were hoping for some samples to be collected during that
cruise?
It would be great if we could get the EXPORTS FLNTU and C-star on the ctd
for your cruise..
Yay
Ivona

Subject: We will be participating in the OOI cruise!
Hi Ivona,
I have great news. I just wanted to let you know that Matt Palanza has
invited us (team Roesler-Sosik) to join the OOI cruise on the Ride that
precedes the EXPORTS cruise. We will be setting up the inline system only
(IFCB, acs, ECObb, ECOchl, ECOcdom, TSG, and maybe LISST).
Scientifically this will allow us to set the stage optically for the EXPORT
cruise and to obtain some interesting observations from Newport to Stn P. We
will collect flow through samples for ap and HPLC.
Technologically it will give us a chance to troubleshoot the new flowing
seawater system they have just constructed on the Ride and, more
importantly, implement the diaphragm pump. Can you let me know the status of
the pump so that I can begin communicating with Matt Dunham on the Ride?
Thank you.
Also, recall that shipping was to be covered by NASA and so how should I go
about preparing my gear for shipping early. Would it be easier to ship
everything early and store the extra EXPORTS gear (i.e., filter rig,
spectrophotometer, etc) or should we do two shipments, one early and the
other with everyone else's gear.
Thank you for any insight and assistance!
Collin
