Hi All,
First, no one has come forward wanting to give a presentation in next Monday’s all-hands time slot. So, there will NOT be an all-hands zoom this coming Monday. Please let me know if you’d like to present to the group. There are WG2 (food web - NA) and WG3 (optics - NA storms) meetings next Wednesday though and you all should have received notices from Meredith and Jason. Bug them if you hadn’t but would like to meet.
Second, Erik and I have been looking at the UVP PSD from both cruises. The issue is the Process Ship PSD data from both cruises consistently underestimates the other ships’ observations due to several known reasons. Assuming that the Ride and Discovery PSD are correct, we have been intercalibrating these data so they are comparable. Note if you have used UVP PSD data from the Discovery, Ride or Sarmiento, you should be OK. None of these data sets were or will be corrected.
The intercalibration of the North Atlantic PSD data is complete and a intercalibration report and a folder with matlab .mat data files and example m-files are available on the drive in the shared folder ’shared data / UVP / Merged UVP July 2022 ‘ or https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Fdrive%2Ffolders%2F1PYYQkOhwD8de5V78tJyr1rDPHXlHo2e7&data=05%7C01%7Cexports_all%40espo.nasa.gov%7C0f4edd64baeb4125f87608da6c0ccc08%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637941099474452570%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ZoIiMS4%2BTMGQXO1yzwRlj%2Bs7QSTu%2FC5VWd8HM8t81Fw%3D&reserved=0 <https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Fdrive%2Ffolders%2F1PYYQkOhwD8de5V78tJyr1rDPHXlHo2e7&data=05%7C01%7Cexports_all%40espo.nasa.gov%7C0f4edd64baeb4125f87608da6c0ccc08%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C637941099474452570%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ZoIiMS4%2BTMGQXO1yzwRlj%2Bs7QSTu%2FC5VWd8HM8t81Fw%3D&reserved=0>. Let Erik and I know if there are any questions or issues with that.
We are in the process of intercalibrating the North Pacific PSD data. Should have an updated data set in a similar form in the next week or two.
Last, please keep us informed on progress you are making in your research and let us know what we can do to help get data submitted to SeaBASS and publications complete.
Best, Dave, Ivona and Inia
