Hi Paula
A couple of us have been communicating offline and there is concern that shifting the dates from the original will have significant impacts for those with teaching obligations. It is likely to prevent some PIs from participating in the 2018 cruise when the original dates worked for us. What was Scripps' reason for shifting it forward 10 days? Is it a final decision?
Thank you for your consideration.

My understanding is that if a permit request is submitted early, EXPORTS will be able to use the commercial fishing vessel docks for mob/demob as the fishing fleet will be out. I am not sure how this happens, but I will find out.

>> - Clearly the dates of the two ships don’t match. UNOLS knows this is a problem for us (I told them it’s a no go; I quite literally do not know how to make this work given the science and personnel that will have to mob and demob on the two ships).
