Dear ASIA-AQ Colleagues:
DC-8 Parking
The DC-8 will be parked at the AMC Ramp. Please see below for walking directions from the Turumi Lodge.
Please note that there will be no lab/office spaces near this location. If you do not need to service your instruments, we encourage everybody to work in Turumi Lodge.
ESPO will assist in bringing equipment left behind in hangar 1187.
Instrument De-integration
For Korean colleagues who will bring personal vehicles, you can temporarily park your vehicles in the parking space in front of AMC Terminal and walk to the ramp.
There is no staging area near the aircraft. So, once the instrument is removed from the aircraft, the instrument needs to be taken out of the ramp area immediately.
Timeline
March 27th – DC-8 arrives RKSO
March 28th – Korean instrument de-integration
March 29th – Recertify DC-8 payload
March 30th – Down Day
March 31st – DC-8 departs for ANC

Subject: Please read if you are returning to Osan AB, S. Korea after Thailand.
Dear ASIA-AQ Colleagues:
I hope you all have productive mission in Thailand. As you are getting ready to transit back to Korea, there are a few things you need to know.
EAL and Turumi Lodging
Please see attached EAL and Turumi Reservation. The EAL is set and cannot be modified. Please use the passport or Korea ID credentials you entered in the ESPO registration to access the base. If the Turumi reservation is not accurate, please let me know as soon as possible.
Aircraft Parking
Due to the current Combat Search and Rescue Training Exercises, the doorstop ramp is unavailable. The DC-8 will be parked at AMC Ramp Spot 2 (same area as where we had the Media Day)
Korean Instrument Export Control
All instruments were imported to the US duty free via NASA. There is no additional requirement when the instruments leave the base. Same rules apply to Koji’s instrument.
Internet
There will be no internet connectivity at the AMC Terminal. If you need internet access, please see ESPO. We have some MIFI hotspots you can use.
Cryogens and Gasses
1 LN2 dewar and dry ice will be available when you arrive. All other gas cylinders have been packed in the shipping container but still accessible if you need them.
Cold Weather Gear
We will bring the cold weather gear to either AMC Terminal or Turumi Lodge, so you can easily pick up you gear upon arrival. Please find a way to keep your cold weather gear since you may also need it for Anchorage transit. The rest of the cold weather gear will be air shipped to AFRC Palmdale. This shipment is strictly for cold weather gear only.
Finally, Spring season has arrived in Korea. It was sunny with blazing temperature of 60°F/15°C yesterday afternoon.
