ARCSIX Team-
I know most of you aren't physically here at WFF but I wanted to share our current plans for the coming days.
Provided we receive our Approval To Proceed in the morning, tomorrow is our Instrument Check Flight. All instrument teams will be allowed to operate in flight to make sure things are working as they should be.
Reminders for all flyers:
- It could be up to a 5 hour flight, so plan accordingly with food/snacks/drinks to hold you over
- Please refrain from wearing any strongly scented perfume/cologne/grooming products
o Some people are extremely sensitive to odors and being trapped in a tube with something that's giving you a migraine is absolutely miserable
- At altitude the plane (especially the floor) can get extremely cold, so dress in layers if you can and consider an extra pair of socks
o The crew will do everything they can to keep it comfortable but sometimes there's only so much that can be done
Friday 17 May
0815 Tow aircraft out
~0830 Access and power on plane
NLT 1000 All P-3 flyers at hangar N-159
1030 P-3 Flight Safety Video in downstairs conference room
1115 "Planeside" safety brief with Project Pilot (actually onboard the plane)
Doors close
~1200 Take Off (~1200 or whenever everyone is ready)
** The duration of the flight depends on the weather and how much the team is able to accomplish while in the air.
L+15 minutes Debrief to assess instrument status and team needs
Saturday 18 May & Sunday 19 May
If everyone is happy with their instrument's performance and do not require any further work before we deploy next week, enjoy your weekend off!
I will send an email now to request possible overtime on Saturday and Sunday just in case, but I have my fingers crossed that everyone will be successful and can take some hard earned down time before the push of next week and our departure day. We can make that call at the debrief tomorrow.
Thank you and have a nice night,
Kelly Griffin
