Packing information:

For large luggage returning on the C-130, please label and stage it by midday on Saturday, June 15th. If you need help transporting it to the hangar with the truck, coordinate with me in advance. Use the dedicated cargo staging area (photo below) marked with pink tape next to the fire hydrant by the G-III (do not block the fire hydrant). Label luggage with pink tape for BTV or blue tape for WFF so we can sort them for packing. Any miscellaneous science cargo for SARP that needs to return to WFF on the C-130 should also be staged there.

Pack all instrument support equipment back into their cases and stow them along the hangar walls (see photo from HALO below as an example). We must leave Hangar 8 in a usable condition in between the ARCSIX spring and summer deployments.

General reminders/information:

If you plan to go on an excursion off-base this weekend, use the buddy system and maintain a safe distance from wildlife. Always let someone know where you are going. Stay safe and enjoy the Arctic, especially before returning to the heat back home.

Things to consider before leaving…

  1. Clean your rooms and leave the keys in the door before departing. Leave any luggage in the closet or bring it to the hangar for packing or storing in the locked room (see Stevie).
  2. For those not returning, please give the meal cards to ESPO or place them in the drop box located at Dundas Buffet after breakfast on the morning of departure. Otherwise, keep them for round 2.
  3. Clear all the tables and return any power strips to the ESPO blue/red cases. We can stack the tables on top of each other instead of putting them Dan will rearrange everything to how it is for the second deployment.

ARCSIX participants returning home via the NASA aircraft, please fill out this Google form so we can confirm your travel plans and determine any logistical needs you may have. This will help us prepare any necessary support.
