Subject: ARCSIX 2nd deployment close out

Hello everyone,

We are getting close to the end of the ARCSIX second deployment; Congratulations!

Please read this entire message. There are steps that you must take.

The last Science Flight day is Aug 14. This leaves only one day, Aug 15, for us to pack all our equipment. I urge you to work with ESPO and assist them with packing your equipment. Quincy and Stevie will be the ESPO representatives on-site in Pituffik.

  1. Your cargo is due to the marked staging area on Monday, August 12. I understand that you might need some of your equipment for the last couple of days, however, please pack and stage all the unused equipment. If there is essential equipment you need and are unable to pack before the deadline let ESPO know.

  1. When packing your cargo be mindful of any Hazmat packed in your boxes. Any flammable liquid in any quantity is Hazmat. You must report it to Kit and Quincy. Not reporting it will likely delay our shipment.

  1. Transiting on the C-130 or the P-3 — your larger luggage is due at Hangar 8 by noon Thursday, August 15. You are allowed to bring one smaller overnight bag the day of the flight. Clearly mark all bags with name and destination (BVT or WFF). This extra luggage will stay at your feet so keep it small.

  1. If you have any of the ESPO equipment, tables, chairs, etc. we need them by Monday, August 12. Coordinate with ESPO, see the google form.

C130 transit will stop at Burlington International to clear customs. If you are planning to off-board in Burlington please indicate so here:

Kit needs this information for weight and balance of the C-130.

P-3 transit will stop in Bangor to clear customs.

Please book your hotel and/or connecting airfare. We are working towards a 1400 arrival of the C-130 at BVT. I suggest booking connecting flights after 1600 local to allow sufficient time for customs clearance and luggage retrieval.

When you leave the rooms, please pack the bedding in the black plastic bags. We left these black plastic bags in the dressers. If you can’t find it, there should be black plastic bags in the cleaning rooms. Please, take the bag to the common areas in Bldg. 331 and 336 or downstairs in the arctic room if in Bldg. 99.

Please let us know at espo-arcsix at nasa.onmicrosoft.com<mailto:espo-arcsix at nasa.onmicrosoft.com> if you have any questions.
