Hi all,

as promised, here is the final agenda<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1Re-sQe2Ofi8iaL5hFc8jkU1DE7ggdluBgvVb2JJAqrE%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=05%7C01%7CArcsix%40espo.nasa.gov%7C03ee1dec125e4f8c63b608db9534e8bf%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638267826698910297%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=pXFxdntcet7qYwFGZADAVoD9QRdFJnG6D9FOqgiJYBo%3D&reserved=0> (well, a few minor things might still change). Contributors/speakers, please take a look to check whether I missed anything, didn't respect the times when you're unavailable or the length. Many individual contributions are organized in "collections" (e.g., P-3 instrument reps, WGs, etc.). Many thanks to those who submitted the one/two pagers. I am impressed – for now, I was only expecting titles/topics, but many of you already completed the template as well. I expect that your ideas will get airtime in the Wednesday/Thursday 4pm slots, as well as in the appropriate WG overview presentations on those same days. If you need additional time, or if you have a late submission for a topic you'd like to talk about, please let me know asap. We need to print the agenda on Monday morning.

We will have coffee. Maybe even pastries...

I will send another email on Monday morning.
Looking forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday. Start is at 8:30am.

Subject: Upcoming STM – and some homework

Hi all,
the second ARCSIX dry run is just behind us, and the STM is only a week away. I sent a preliminary schedule<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1zuaRBzBoPXSEjsdiM0UOxhy1MtLcPTXjFRG39CG883Q%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=05%7C01%7CArcsix%40espo.nasa.gov%7C03ee1dec125e4f8c63b608db9534e8bf%7C7005d45845be48ae8140d43da96dd17b%7C0%7C0%7C638267826698910297%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=YTqA8HXOnprhoZLTNqrZ9avvSgTkSkdOgRJpltgTMtM%3D&reserved=0> earlier, and I am currently refining it based on your input. I would like to finalize it by Thursday night.

Here comes some homework: We would like to capture the outcome of the important discussions of the working groups over the past months (objectives, refined science questions/hypotheses, deliverables), as well as individual contributions through one/two-pagers that translate the various goals into a flight strategy and allow harmonization. The primary intention is to keep track of the goals throughout the campaigns (mission "scorecard"). A secondary goal is to streamline flight planning and do as much as we can do ahead of time. I attached a template for such a document. Of course, we are not expecting completed documents by the STM, just the titles/themes.

Some goals that I have seen so far are fairly broad (e.g., "characterize marine aerosols [...]"; "thin liquid water clouds - radiation and remote sensing"), and some more specific science (e.g., "study seeder-feeder interactions in multi-layer/multi-phase clouds"; "assess impact of water vapor above clouds on cloud radiative effect for a range of conditions"; "study the transformation of biomass burning aerosols during transport events"). Then again some are deliverables such as "create a set of BRDFs for a number of anchor points north of Greenland" or relate directly to the SQs and hypotheses from the White Paper. Please send me what you need!

The working group presentations, planned for day 2 and day 3, will already include key goals/deliverables, but may not be complete. So, if you'd like some airtime for your specific goal, please send me an email by Thursday, and I will carve out some time. Summarizing, please send the title of the one-pager if you'd like to contribute one – either through the working groups or individually. We would like to capture all input to stimulate a good discussion.

Thank you for reading another long email. Please do your homework 🙂.
I will write again on Friday with a final agenda and some logistics instructions.

Best,
Sebastian
