Subject: [All] EVS4s assigned to ESPO
All,
The EVS4 announcement is out. Most PIs have selected their Project Management Team (called Implementation Management Team) but one PI is still thinking.
We have been asked to manage….
PYRocumulonimbus EXperiment (PYREX)
Size: LARGE ($30M)
Weather and Dynamic / FireSense Program
Deployments to Palmdale, CA, Boise, ID and Cold Lake, Alberta
Aircraft: WB-57 and ER-2
PI: David Peterson NRL
Arctic Coastlines – Frontlines Of Rapidly Transforming Ecosystems (FORTE)
Size: SMALL ($15M)
Ocean Biology and Biogeochemistry Program
Deployments to Fairbanks, AK / UAS from Deadhorse, AK
Aircraft: P-3, Ship and UAS
PI; Maria Tzortziou, CUNY, MC
Nitrogen and Carbon Terrestrial Fluxes: Agriculture, Atmospheric Composition, and Ecosystems (INTERFAACE)
Size: SMALL ($15M)
Terrestrial Ecology Program
Deployments to Palmdale, CA and Lincoln, NE
Aircraft: P-3 and B-200
PI: Glenn Wolfe, GSFC, MC
The PI is still thinking about it. Maybe ESPO or maybe LaRC.
Snow4Flow
Size: LARGE ($30M)
Cryosphere/Water Program
Alaska, Arctic Canada, Greenland and Svaldbard
Aircraft: Twin Otter, Basler Turbo Caribou
OTHER EVS4s
Landslide Climate Change Experiment: JPL will manage
Hemispheric Airborne Measurements of Air Quality (HAMAQ): LaRC will manage
I’ll be reaching out to the PIs to set up an introduction but we will need to get together next week to see how will manage these and who the PMs will be.
Here we go!
