All,
There were 5 of us in the office on Tuesday and one tested positive for COVID on Thursday. Those of us in the office have been alerted as well as management and Dr. Firestone.
Dr. Firestone sent the following note…
Thanks for the alert.
Here is some information that may be helpful.
Quarantine guidance differs based on the exposed person’s COVID vaccination status.
Highlights include:
1. All close contacts (regardless of vaccination status) should wear a well-fitted mask for at least 10 days anytime they are around others.
2. Any close contact who is not up-to-date on vaccinations should remain at home/off site for at least five days.
3. All close contacts should get tested 5 days after exposure.
4. Any close contact who develops symptoms or tests positive should follow guidelines for reporting and medical isolation.
The person who tested positive should remain in medical isolation for at least five days – at least through Sunday – and with at least 3 days of improvement before return to site, and distance/mask through day 10…
The CDC has a useful “quarantine and isolation calculator” tool designed for this purpose. (though it only factors in 1 day since fever and improvement, rather than NASA’s 3)
