Mobile Operating System Enforcement
What’s Happening:
Beginning Tuesday, May 26, MDM-registered mobile devices that are below the required OS version will be unable to access NASA email or applications delivered via MDM from their mobile device.
The current minimum mobile operating system versions are as follows:
* iOS: Version 13.4 or greater
* Android: Version 9.0 or greater
What to Expect After Tuesday, May 26
When a mobile OS upgrade is available, a notification from the OS provider (e.g., Apple, Samsung) will appear on your device. EUSO will test the OS upgrade for 10 days.
After NASA completes testing, the minimum OS requirement will be updated in MDM, and you will receive an email notification to upgrade. You will have 30 days to complete the upgrade. You will receive alerts on your device and email notifications to remind you to upgrade.
If you do not complete the OS upgrade within 30 days, the MaaS360 container and apps delivered via MDM (i.e. O365 apps) will be automatically removed from your device, and you will be unable to access NASA (apps or email) on the device. Refer to Maintaining Your Mobile Device Software (KB0011659)<https://esd.nasa.gov/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0011659> for the steps to determine the OS version and the steps to initiate an upgrade.
Once the device is upgraded, the MaaS360 app will be automatically restored to your device. (Note: iOS devices will be required to set a new MaaS360 PIN to regain access to NASA.)
