Hi all,

Simon and I went through the agenda and made a few notes in the attached.  In the main, it looks good, but we can’t do much to amend unless perhaps the whole SC weighs in (so that it doesn’t just reflect our own opinions).

I now remember where the Krum intercomparison every other idea came from! It was when we were discussing 12-box modelling and there was a request for future meetings to incorporate a similar review of emissions estimates, say every other meeting. And it was there mentioned perhaps other items, like intercomparisons, could also to every other meeting.  I don’t see that in any notes in the agenda so I’m not sure if that ever got written down, and clearly it was more of a proposal than a decision as I had remembered it…. But as a SC, these are ideas we as a group could consider?

Krum – for context – we are looking to see whether there is potential to free up around a half day worth of agenda items so that the Markes meeting could move to Friday morning to give more time to it.  I mentioned that your intercomparisons item was one that we discussed as potentially doing once per year instead of twice per year.  Whether that was “agreed” or not I don’t know as we don’t always come to firm decisions at the meetings.

We also discussed that there are also some items we might want to add in – for example regional emissions estimates every other meeting.  Matt – you must remember that!

Perhaps this is something the SC can decide:

  1.  We would like to free up a bit of time – are there potential items that could be done every other meeting?
  2.  Do we need to add items such as regional emissions estimates?

I’ll have a look through today as well.

I have notes detailing issues raised by your intercomparisons but no note about doing it every other meeting?

Thanks for this. I don’t recall that decision either and I didn’t make a note of it in my meetings notes either, which I suspect I would have?

Paul,

According to Anita it was decided at the last AGAGE meeting that your intercomparisons should only be done every second meeting. I didn’t recall such decision but I am pretty good at forgetting things. Also I would have voted against that I am sure, I find these intercomparisons very important and I would be in favor to revers that decision. Do you or anybody else apart from Anita remember this decision?
