Okay, using the mailman interface, I've turned on moderation for everyone on the ACCLIP WB mailing list except for the ESPO people below whom I've added as moderators.  They will get an email if someone who is not on the list or is moderated sends a message to the list.  The email will have the link to release the message if it is appropriate for the whole group.

For some reason the following email was listed as a non-member who could post to the list: doremire at ucar.edu<mailto:doremire at ucar.edu>.  I have removed this from the mailman interface because she is the one who recently sent to the list and triggered this.

What I'm not sure about is if a new person is added via ESPO db, will the moderator bit be turned on for them with the sync.  I'll put a reminder to check this list in a week or when I know someone new is added.   Also copying Ayuta.

Hi Jhony,

The main mailing list ACCLIP-WB has 274 people on it.  Right now it is set that anyone can email it and the message goes to all.

Do you want this mailing list or any other ACCLIP mailing lists to be moderated?

That is where only those who have a check in mod can send messages to the list and anyone else will have their message held until you or Andrian (the list administers) release that message.  For example, we can have it moderated so that only ESPO and ACCLIP mgmt can email the list.  And we can add more moderators like me or other ESPO folks.

There is info under headings like:

  *   To allow messages to come through for some
  *   To allow messages to come through for all

Let me know if you want any changes.  I remember a time when Quincy had a mailing list that someone was spamming continuously so personally I think moderated is safer even though it may require an extra step by ESPO to release the message.
