Comments:
Flight 16-9036 was a successful engineering flight for the SPEX instrument. The objectives were met; 2 hour flight as planned. An instrument heater stopped working during climb-out. SRON ground crew notified the pilot to restart the SPEX instrument. The pilot had no indication of the heater not working. SPEX restarted normally; the heater worked as expected. However, there was more instrument cooling than expected. The pilot noted turbulence between 510 and 610 up in the Sierras at about 18:54 and at 20:10 during the descent. The flight was smooth north of 22.5 deg. The sky was clear for both SPEX and AirMSPI-1. There were no issues with AirMSPI-1
