Comments:Flew Falcon (Pre planned) Mop-Up 1 mission over nearly entirely clear skies. Low stratus clouds remained to the east of the transects and the coast parallel lines were clear below. Completed a ramp pass at 18,000 feet before descending for landing.

Mission: Falcon Mop-up 1 (priority: high)

This mission combines portions of the 2016 IceSat-2 Central and Umanaq B missions which could not be accommodated in the Falcon versions of those missions.

For the first time since we arrived in Greenland, we awoke this morning to clear skies not only over Kangerlussuaq, but also over the entire west coast of Greenland from Cape Farewell in the south to near Thule in the northwest.  The central and eastern parts of Greenland were still covered in clouds associated with the very persistent storm system in the Greenland Sea.  Naturally we chose to concentrate on the west coast with this mission.  This particular mission was also advantageous in that, being about a half-hour shorter than most of our flights, allowed us to conduct a high-altitude ramp pass over Kangerlussuaq.  This is something we have been unable to do successfully so far in this campaign because of poor local weather.

All instruments performed well.

We conducted a ramp pass at 18,000'.
